You may be wondering what will happen next after you have retained The Barone Defense Firm to act as your lawyer. After you have paid the initial retainer, and signed the fee agreement, we will file with the court our appearance. This is the document that notifies the court, and the prosecutor, that we are there to represent you.

The next thing we will do, is to file a detailed discovery demand. We file this with the prosecutor, with the police, and with the court. This notifies them that we are demanding that they produce the documents that we need, in order to effectively evaluate your case and determine what defenses will apply.
